Jackson and other firehouse staff came to Halas Hall last Monday to facilitate the packing event and give them a chance to interact with the players.

“It's incredible that we can be an organization like ours that has been seen for many years by an organization like the Bears – the legendary Chicago Bears,” Jackson said. “‘It’s nice to see how new the rookies are to the city, to the team and in their first year with the pros.

“To know that they are making an impact not only with their involvement on the field, but also with us and all the other areas they care about in Chicago. The fact that they came out the day after a game to really impact these families – we just take it to heart because they are committed to making that happen.”

While the entire team has opportunities to give back to the community every week, the freshmen were proud to come together as a group to reciprocate the support they have felt since joining the team this spring.

“It’s super important,” quarterback Caleb Williams said. “The opportunity to be part of the community, especially being a new face here, makes you feel a little more at home. You have such a close-knit group of players, but also the opportunity to feel that sense of community. “It's really important that we can give back and show our appreciation to all the fans and all the people in the community who support us .
