It was against us (the Bears). I think it was Cody Whitehair. It was a stretch game. I went backwards and he immediately turned back around, hit me and I flipped over into the end zone. They played that all day in the movie.
What NFL moment are you most proud of?
Probably starting my first year [in 2017]. I had to recover. I didn't play my rookie year because I was injured, and then I got into the starting lineup halfway through the following season. That was really, really cool for me. This is kind of the pinnacle of your career – you're starting in the NFL – and you really don't want to be anywhere else.
Looking back now, what was your reaction to that? Contract extension you received last season?
That was huge. I bounced around after being cut by the Browns in 2021. You go from the beginning to elimination and it's like, “I guess I'll give it up.” Then you find a new home and it's really, really amazing.
Who is the most difficult player you have played against?
I would give that [former Ravens guard] Marshal Yanda. The football part is great, but it's the things after the whistle that are the fun.
Who was your sports idol as a child?
Brandon Jacobs and Eli Manning. [The Giants] As a kid, I loved beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
What's on your bucket list?
I'm getting my private pilot's license. I've always wanted to fly airplanes. I went to Baylor to attend this program, but it was after school so I couldn't attend. It's something that takes time, so this could be my post-career move.
What are your hobbies outside of football?
Lately I can almost only play Xbox, but also music. I play piano, guitar, cello.
