Browns lose LT Dawand Jones for season with broken ankle

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Dawand Jones is out for the season with a broken ankle injury that requires surgery.

The Browns start at left tackle Week 11's matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The injury occurred late in the first half when offensive lineman Wyatt Teller accidentally fell on his teammate's ankle. Dawand Jones had by taking off his helmet and making no move to get up. With backup left tackle Jedrick Wills sidelined due to injury, Cleveland was forced to rely on its third-line left tackle.

This is a huge disappointment for Cleveland, who is currently trying to develop players like Dawand Jones for the future. His current experience at left tackle is limited and the Browns would like to find out if he can be a permanent solution for next season, etc. Until Wills can return, Germain Ifedi is expected to be the Browns' starting left guard.
