Browns re sign QB Bailey Zappe after cutting him Monday night

The Cleveland Browns have re-signed quarterback Bailey Zappe after releasing him on Monday night.

The release of Zappe, who was their third emergency quarterback since Deshaun Watson's injury, freed up space for the Browns to the active squad. The Browns but have not yet announced any further squad changes.

Zappe, a former fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots, has recovered somewhat since being waived this summer. He was then signed to the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad before the Browns signed him from their practice squad to their active roster following Watson's injury.

Now he ends up back in Cleveland for the time being.

Expect Zappe to continue to be listed as an inactive gameday, but have his pads ready as the emergency third quarterback.
