Jedrick Wills made a business decision to sit vs Ravens

The Cleveland Browns benched former first-round pick Jedrick Wills in favor of Dawand Jones at left tackle, and he spoke to the media about it for the first time.

And it didn't make things better.

Wills explained against the Baltimore Ravens after straining his knee the week before against the Cincinnati Bengals:

“I decided on my own that I made a business decision not to play after the Bengals game before the Ravens game because I was injured. And then the next week I got the news.”

After the Ravens game, was named starter shortly afterwards.

This more or less sums up Wills' time with the Browns. Although his rookie season started promisingly, the former Alabama national champion never took another step forward. He did the opposite. Year after year, it seemed like Wills was losing confidence and regressing.

This has led many to question his off-field and training habits, as well as his love for the sport. Needless to say, the “business decision” not to play in a year where free agency status is on the line does nothing to assuage those thoughts.

At this point, it would be shocking if the Browns re-signed Wills this offseason.
