Sean Payton gives his take on former Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy

When the Cleveland Browns take on the Denver Broncos on Monday night, it will be a homecoming of sorts for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy as he faces his former team and head coach Sean Payton.

Jeudy has been the Browns' best receiver since Amari Cooper was traded . In the four games since Winston was under center, Jeudy has 24 catches for 379 yards and a touchdown.

This game against the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft will certainly give him even more motivation. Payton is aware of the connection his two former players, Winston and Jeudy, have made over the past month. When asked what Jeudy brings to the table, Payton :

“He’s explosive, he separates – and I know Jameis. I trained both. Jameis' personality is infectious. He'll tell someone, “Hey, open up and I'll find you.” So that's what a receiver wants. These guys had, I would say, a good connection. You can see that just by the limited number of games Jameis has played. Talent-wise, he has great hips, great transitions and great football IQ.”

Can Jeudy pay his former head coach and his former team with his fifth straight strong performance as the Browns look to make it two wins in a row for the first time this season? They are massive underdogs, so strong play from Jeudy on offense will be a necessity.
