The Detroit Lions host the Green Bay Packers in their Week 14 Thursday night matchup. Both teams are coming off victories on Thanksgiving.
Much of the focus has been on the Lions' injuries on the defensive side of the ball, but a critical injury on offense could linger for Detroit's offense in Week 14's NFC North matchup. Left tackle Taylor Decker missed the win over the Bears and could also miss the rematch with the Packers. The veteran team captain is dealing with a leg injury sustained in the Week 12 win over the Colts when he was rolled up on a play from the side.
Head coach Dan Campbell was asked about Decker's potential availability for Thursday night's game at his Sunday afternoon press conference.
“Getting better,” Campbell said of Decker’s progress. “I still think it’s suitable for everyday use. I think for him it will depend on whether he can go this week. He’s definitely better (than before Thanksgiving).”
Dan Skipper replaced Decker at left tackle against the Bears and gave up four QB pressures to Jared Goff, per PFF. The Lions opted to keep All-Pro Penei Sewell at right tackle, and that paid off in the run blocking department against the Bears, while Sewell also pitched a shutout in pass protection.
