The Lions' three biggest concerns going into the last game were Kalif Raymond, Carlton Davis and Taylor Decker. Unfortunately, all three will be released tomorrow. Luckily, none of them are long-term season dropouts.
We wish the teams and fans a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
DETROIT LIONS
Out – Carlton Davis CB, knee/thumb (NP NP NP)
The fracture of his left thumb happened two weeks ago and he played through it with a splint. The left knee injury occurred in the last game. This will keep him out, but it doesn't seem serious. Hopefully it's just a mild muscle/tendon strain in the back knee.
Lost – Taylor Decker OT, knee (NP NP NP)
Decker appeared to have suffered a mild right MCL sprain and a mild right upper ankle sprain in the last game. Even a mild form of these injuries can result in a player being sidelined for several weeks. Although he will be out this Thursday, there is a good chance he will be back next Thursday against the Packers.
Questionable – Amon-Ra St. Brown WR, Knee (NP LP FP)
St. Brown grabbed his right lateral distal knee and upper calf after a punt return in the 4th quarter of the last game. I suspect just a slight bruise or pulled muscle. He looked good in the last game and I expect him to play with minimal to no limitations.
Questionable – David Montgomery RB, Shoulder (NP LP FP)
Montgomery left the final game with suspected right shoulder contusion or universal joint sprain. The injury is mild and I don't expect any limitations on Thanksgiving.
In – DJ Reader DT, Illness (NP FP FP)
Since his first appearance in Week 2, Reader has played in every game and logged about 40-60% of the snaps. Expect this percentage to continue tomorrow.
In – Terrion Arnold CB, groin (FP FP FP)
After missing a game with a groin injury, Arnold is back at it. His health is important with Davis out.
NOTEWORTHY
Out – Caliph Raymond
Raymond's left foot came down hard in the final game, which was a concern for, among other things, a turf-toe, Lisfranc. As reported by Ian RapaportRaymond was placed on IR today but is expected to be back no later than the playoffs. That's a pretty good result because it could have been a lot worse. He is eligible to return on December 30 against the 49ers.
In – Emmanuel Moseley CB
After missing the entire year with a torn pectoral muscle, Moseley saw his first action in the final game with 15 special teams snaps. With Davis out, Arnold recovering and Kindle Vildor struggling, Moseley could see some defensive effort against the Bears.
Out – Ennis Rakestraw CB
Rakestraw was placed on IR last week with an Achilles tendon.
