Analyzing Packers selections from new PFF 3 round mock draft

With Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season almost over, many teams have already turned their attention to the offseason. Fortunately, the Green Bay Packers, with a 9-3 record and a narrow lead in the playoffs, are not one of them.

However, with many teams either eliminated or close to being eliminated from playoff contention and the college football regular season ending last weekend, the Conversations surrounding the 2025 NFL Draft are heating up.

Professional football focus Trevor Sikkema recently published a with analysis for the first 32 picks. While the Packers still have a lot of meaningful football ahead of them, now is a good time to take a moment and identify a few positions they could address in next year's draft.

Let's quickly break down Sikemma's three choices:

1.27: CB Shavon Revel Jr., East Carolina

Height: 6-3
Weight: 193

From Sikkema: “Revel's draft value will largely depend on how well his knee heals from a torn ACL earlier this season.” While his tape reveals some inexperience and inconsistencies that require further development at the next level, his starting caliber size, Speed and ball skills make him a worthwhile first-round candidate.”

Breakdown: The Packers waited until the seventh round to take a cornerback in the 2024 draft, despite another injury-plagued season from Jaire Alexander and uncertainty over who the No. 2 cornerback would be. Well, many of those who thought it was a position of need last offseason are starting to look right. Alexander is once again battling injuries, and while Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes have had some good moments, none are necessarily a long-term solution.

Before his season-ending injury, Revel had two interceptions in three games. As a junior, he totaled 54 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, one interception, 13 pass defenses and one defensive touchdown. Revel is an intriguing prospect with adequate size, length and ball production who could develop into an excellent addition to Jeff Hafley's defense.

2.59: DT Deone Walker, Kentucky

Height: 6-6
Weight: 345

Breakdown: It's always a good idea to invest in the trenches, and with TJ Slaton entering the final year of his rookie contract, Green Bay could use another big run-stuffer. Walker has been a starter at Kentucky for three years and is one of those talents that will be noticed the moment he steps on the field. For a player his size, he is surprisingly quick thanks to his experience as a basketball player. Walker can two-gap in the run game and collapse the pocket as a pass rusher. He had a breakout season in 2023 when he recorded 55 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. This season, Walker has drawn more attention from opposing fronts, but still tallied 37 tackles, five tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also pressured the Wildcats in back-to-back seasons, according to PFF. Walker would have a chance to play right away if he proves to be a three-down player.

3.91: RB Kyle Monangai, Rutgers

Height: 5-9
Weight: 210

Breakdown: It would definitely be a surprise to use a third-round pick over a running back two years in a row. Even though rookie MarShawn Lloyd only played in one game this season, he could still have a bright future. Meanwhile, Emmanuel Wilson has done an excellent job in the RB2 spot behind one of the league's most productive defenders, Josh Jacobs. I'm not sure the Packers would need to invest another Day 2 in another running back, but Monangai is certainly intriguing. He is coming off back-to-back 1,200-yard seasons with 28 total touchdowns. As a runner, Monangai has demonstrated great speed, contact balance and the ability to generate big plays – he has completed 67 runs of at least 10 yards since 2023, according to PFF in the Packers' backfield. While running back isn't a pressing need in Green Bay, Monangai has a bright future as a potential starter.
