Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs won his appeal and the NFL overturned a $45,020 fine .
Jacobs was originally penalized for unnecessary roughness/illegal use of a helmet for an unpenalized play in the fourth quarter of the Packers' Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans.
According to Pelissero, this is the third time in the last two years that Jacobs has won an appeal against a fine.
The original penalty involved Jacobs lowering his head and inducing contact with an opponent.
The appeals are being handled by officials Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, Kevin Mawae and Jordy Nelson, four former NFL players. The decisions of the appeal officers are final and binding.
In nine games, Jacobs has 762 rushing yards, 890 total yards and four touchdowns for 177 total touchdowns.
The Packers have a bye week in Week 10. Jacobs has suffered an ankle injury over the last two weeks but could be healthy after the bye. The Packers return to the field on Sunday, November 17th against the Chicago Bears.
