A few weeks ago it was reported that JJ McCarthy was back at the Vikings facility continuing his rehab. Those details included him meeting weekly with Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell to discuss things, and people wondered why Sam Darnold wasn't getting the same treatment.
As it turns out, to no one's surprise, Kevin O'Connell isn't the favorite, but instead treats all of his quarterbacks the same.
When On Monday, O'Connell revealed some details about the inner workings of his relationship with Sam Darnold. Not only did he reiterate that Danrold is the starter like many players, but he also shared that he and Darnold meet weekly.
Just like him and JJ McCarthy.
The play calls and decision-making show that O'Connell works hard to make sure his quarterbacks are in a good position. Even though Darnold played the way he did last week, there should be a lot of noise about how O'Connell and the organization feel about Darnold sticking around.
