The Vikings defense played at a world level this year . The secondary in particular has played above average this year, which is partly due to the signing of that they did before week 1.
On Monday, gave an update on Gilmore's injury against the Cardinals on Sunday.
It could be a hamstring injury, which sounds like a less than ideal situation. He added that it was a minor injury and was therefore not expected to be permanent. The Gilmore-less Vikings secondary showed some weakness against the Cardinals' passing attack, but when push came to shove, they buckled but never broke.
Should Gilmore miss any period of time, it would be up to Fabian Moreau and to step up like they did on Sunday. The Vikings could also rely on UDFA Dwight McGlothern to provide some depth, but that remains to be seen.
