The Atlanta Falcons shocked the NFL by taking the Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in the first round of the 2024 draft, a month after signing Kirk Cousins to a four-year contract.
Despite being placed in a somewhat unusual situation for a rookie quarterback, Penix makes the most of it. The No. 8 overall pick likely won't take over the starting spot anytime soon, but he remains ready whenever his name is called.
We caught up with Penix earlier this week to discuss a variety of topics, including his mindset as the No. 2 QB, his relationships with his teammates and his unique partnership with Sharpie.
