Panthers hold out another defensive starter from Thursdays practice

The Carolina Panthers' porous run defense will need all the help it can get on Sunday, especially against Offensive Player of the Year frontrunner Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles. That's Thursday's injury report, according to one on Wednesday is somewhat concerning.

Today's session did not include the start of linebacker Josey Jewell, who was listed as not participating due to a hamstring injury. Jewell has recorded 71 total tackles (second most on the team), 2.0 sacks and one interception in nine games this season.

Carolina was also without fullback Jadeveon Clowney (knee). Clowney, the team leader in sacks, also missed yesterday's outing.
