plans to appeal for his hit on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence on Wednesday afternoon.
Fans now know who will serve as the appeals officer for the case.
Ramon Foster, a former NFL offensive lineman and current radio host in Nashville, will hear the case after being jointly appointed by the NFL and NFLPA earlier this week. If he agrees with Al-Shair's claim, the ban could be lifted or reduced to a shorter period.
Foster is on the case especially given their relationship to the city of Nashville. Al-Shair played for the Tennessee Titans in 2023 and led the team in tackles.
Ramon Foster is the hearing officer in today's appeal hearing for Texas LB Azeez Al-Shaair's three-game suspension.

Foster, a former teammate of Texas legend Arian Foster during his time at Tennesseee, works on the morning show for the Titans' radio station at 104.5 FM The Zone.
Jon Runyan, the nfl's vice president of football operations, wrote in the suspension letter that the linebacker was involved in a play that the league considered “unacceptable and a serious violation of the rules of the game.”
“Video shows Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence hitting the head/neck area after he clearly falls to the ground during a feet-first slide,” Runyan wrote. “You led with your forearm and helmet and delivered a powerful blow to your opponent in the head/neck area, even though you had time and space to avoid such contact.”

Foster will act as a liaison between the two sides before a final verdict is made. A decision on the suspension is expected to be made later this week.
The Texans have a bye this week but return to NRG Stadium next Sunday to face the Miami Dolphins on December 15th.
