Expectations were high for Jordan after his 76-yard touchdown reception in the AFC Wild Card round win over the Cleveland Browns, but his season was cut short in Week 2 after he tore his ACL against the Chicago Bears .
“It’s really heartbreaking to lose Brevin,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said. “Brevin was on his way to a breakout year. I'm sorry for Brevin and the injury. Anytime these guys get these injuries, it’s always tough.”
Jordan is expected to make a full recovery and be eligible to play in 2025. Now he'll make up for lost time with a one-year deal that essentially serves as a fifth-year option of sorts.
During the offseason, Jordan had improved as a leading blocker and receiver on the flats. He also learned how to play fullback and H-back to increase his value.
“If you want to talk about the heartbeat of this team, it’s just who he is. Someone who loves hard and loves everyone in this building,” Texas quarterback CJ Stroud said. “He loves the ball and I think he has really figured out who he wants to be in this league and how he wants to approach training.”

Jordan is now the third player to receive an extension from Nick Caserio's 2021 first-round draft class. wide receiver Nico Collins signed a three-year, $72.5 million contract before the start of the regular season. quarterback Davis Mills also agreed to a one-year extension earlier this season.
Over the course of his career, Jordan caught 53 passes for 532 yards and five touchdowns.
