Texans granted a one game roster exemption for DL Mario Edwards Jr

The return a key asset to their defensive line ahead of Monday's showdown in Arlington.

The NFL has officially readmitted the veteran from his four-game suspension on Tuesday afternoon.

Edwards, who with the reigning AFC South champions, was suspended without pay for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

The news came the same day this guy was officially reinstated after a six-game ban for a performance-enhancing drug policy.

Before Edwards was suspended, he started every Texans game this season. In six games, he ranked third on the team in sacks (two), sixth in tackles (18) and recorded five quarterback hits with two tackles for loss.

In his final game before the suspension, the former second-round pick from Florida State recorded eight tackles against the New England Patriots.

AccordinglyEdwards has been working out at the Texans' practice facility and is “ready to go” when the Texans visit AT&T Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.”

Edwards' return comes at an ideal time after starter Foley Fatukasi left the Week 10 loss to the Detroit Lions with a foot injury in the third quarter. His status remains questionable.

Just like the former Will Anderson Jr., who left the Week 9 loss to the New York Jets after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter. Anderson, a favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year honors, did not play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m
