Colts best and worst performers in Week 10 vs Bills

Following the Indianapolis Colts' third straight loss, this time against the Buffalo Bills, Pro Football Focus had the opportunity to review the tape and hand out each player's grades.

Which members of this Colts team performed best in Week 10 and who struggled according to PFF metrics?

But as is customary here, I always want to add the caveat that when discussing the PFF rating system, it is not the be-all and end-all of player evaluation. It's one metric among many out there, and as you'll see, it's not always clear how PFF arrived at the final grade they assign.

Here's a look at PFF's rating system to provide some context behind the numbers:

90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

Below are the three Colts players who received the worst grades in Sunday's game. For a more optimistic approach, you can find the top-rated defenders and the highest rated players on offense, click .

DT Adetomiwa Adebawore

PFF grade: 41.1

Adebawore played only seven snaps in this game and recorded no pressures or tackles in the run game. I'm sure that contributed to his overall grade, but I think there was something else that PFF wasn't a fan of that led to the poor grade – although I'm not sure what exactly that might be .

OT Braden Smith

PFF grade: 45.6

The PFF metric showed Smith performing well in the running game. However, it was the pass protection that lowered his overall grade. Smith was penalized twice and allowed two pressures but no sacks in 42 pass-blocking snaps. Those pressure numbers alone don't seem worthy of such a low grade, so perhaps it was the penalties or something else that played a big role in PFF's rating.

CB Jaylon Jones

PFF grade: 46.8

Jones was involved in four total tackles, but it was his coverage grade that lowered his overall grade. According to PFF metrics, Jones allowed four balls on four targets for 75 yards, or 18.8 yards per catch. He was also punished once.
