Indianapolis Colts defense one of the best at forcing turnovers

In roughly the first week of 2025 Pro Bowl voting, two members of the Indianapolis Colts rank in the top 10 of votes in their respective position groups.

At the guard position, Quenton Nelson is ranked 10th, while Nick Cross is ranked 4th among strong safeties. There are currently no other Colts on the list.

Nelson is playing at a high level in both the running and passing games this season. According to PFF's pass blocking efficiency metric, Nelson ranks 14th out of 79 eligible guards while ranking sixth in run blocking.

Cross' development has provided needed stability at the safety position this season, a group that entered 2024 with major question marks. Cross has settled into the strong safety role with Julian Blackmon playing deep and ranks second in tackles among all defenders this season.

That tackling ability also shows up in coverage, where he limits pass catchers to just 8.5 yards per attempt and limits YAC. He also collected a team-high two interceptions.

In addition to the Pro Bowl recognizing the best players from each position group, many players often have bonuses in their contracts that can be earned by participating in the Pro Bowl.

The NFC and AFC Pro Bowl rosters are determined by fans, coaches and players, with each group's vote counting as one-third in determining the team.
