The Jaguars will monitor the status of two injured starters, quarterback Trevor Lawrence and left guard Ezra Cleveland, in Week 11 as Jacksonville prepares to play the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson thought it was “hard to say” whether Lawrence missed with a “Significant” AC joint sprain in left shoulder, will be able to play against Lions.
“We still have a few days left. I don’t have clear answers right now,” Pederson said of Lawrence.
Pederson added that Lawrence had not spoken to the Jaguars about undergoing surgery for his injury, which was the case “possible” from NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport on Sunday.
“There was no talk of surgery, so I don’t know where the talk of surgery came from,” Pederson said. “Nothing like that.”
Lawrence has completed 168 of 274 (61.3%) passes for 2,004 yards with 11 touchdowns and six interceptions in nine starts this season. He also scored three touchdowns.
Cleveland injured his ankle in the Jaguars' Week 8 loss to the Green Bay Packers and has been sidelined since. He missed Jacksonville's last two games and hasn't practiced since Oct. 25.
Pederson suggested Cleveland could return to practice Wednesday in an unclear capacity.
“Starting Monday, today, tomorrow, he'll get some rest again and should be out there at practice and maybe get some snaps,” Pederson said. “We’ll see where he stands.”
