Things have changed in New Orleans since Darren Rizzi began leading the team into battle. The New Orleans Saints have won their last two games. Victories are the result and the visual representation of change, but it goes deeper than that.
Defensive end Cameron Jordan . It all started with the news that Dennis Allen had been relieved of his duties: “The mental change. When you hear from above that you are changing the position of head coach. There are two options,” Jordan told reporters. “You see teams tanking and you see teams like the Raiders last year that had success. Which one do you want to be?”
This team is led by veterans who no longer see the majority of time in this league. The direction they wanted to take wasn't even a question. They strive for success and so far they have achieved their goal.
Jordan also points out that being able to finish games is a reason for increased confidence. During the seven-game losing streak, there were close games that the Saints were able to close out. The Eagles and the Falcons' first game come to mind. Then the Saints eliminated the Falcons, ending their losing streak.
These are moments when you feel like the tide is turning, even if it's the first win in two months.
