Jared Verse completely ruined the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. It was the rookie edge rusher who hit Derek Carr in the arm while throwing to win the game for the Los Angeles Rams.
One person he didn't meet was fellow rookie Taliese Fuaga. Ironically, Fuaga was right on the game-winning play, but Verse charged tight end Foster Moreau. We thank Los Angeles for the way they staged this print.
The fight between Fuaga and Verse was the fight we wanted to see and both rookies lived up to the billing. However, Verses recorded six debits that day the entire game.
Fuaga continues to be the bright spot on the offensive line. Sometimes a unit gets beaten so badly that everyone takes the blame, but Fuaga did great in pass protection.
With 41 passes that Fuaga blocked, Fuaga did not allow any pressure in most cases. There were snaps he put up before verses, but it wasn't the main event we were hoping for.
Instead, Verse killed the game by rushing from various spots, and Fuaga walked away with another flawless game. Both teams are more than happy with their first-round picks.
