The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense has been a disaster this year. I won't mince words; it was terrible. The difficult things a defense must accomplish were just as much of a problem as the little things.
However, mastering these little things could make the big things easier. He hopes the team can address the issue after the bye week.
“We definitely have to tackle things better. We have periods when we play well. [In] I don't think we tackled better in the second half. Again, coaches and players – we have our coaches, we have our players – we have to get out of this jam. We're in there, we have to get out of there. We show good spots and then we make a mistake and it comes up. . .”
Todd Bowles needs a better defense, the unit he leads and specializes in. This defense is simply a hindrance to a great offense that can score more than 30 points per game but struggles not to give up more.
Maybe tackling is the key, but we'll have to wait and see if that fixes things.
