Titans opened the playbook for Will Levis

En route to a massive divisional upset, the Tennessee Titans opened the schedule for Will Levis in Week 12. Brian Callahan knows the Titans need to put up points, which hasn't been easy this season. After Levis improved in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings, Callahan decided to give Levis more opportunities.

NFL insider Brian Baldinger broke down some of Levi's big plays on Sunday:

“He [Brian Callahan] “Knew they had to open the playbook, they had to attack, they had to get some points,” Baldinger said. He talks about the Titans attacking a cover-two with four receivers. Tyler Boyd runs a deep cover route in front of the safety and forces the safety to bite. “That opens up the opportunity for Calvin Ridley to tackle deep safety Jimmy Ward, and Will Levis lets him fly 63 yards.”

However, Levis cannot make this pass without protection, which Baldinger also breaks down in the video. Levis needed time to make this throw and his line actually gave him time.

The Titans offensive line, particularly the right tackle position, has not protected the quarterback well regardless of who lines up under center. But they've had their moments, and maybe they're starting to turn things around. Who knows? But they were mostly effective on Sunday, and it needs to stay that way.

The more Callahan lets Levis play this season, the more comfortable he will be in his position and the more effective he will be next season.

The Titans next face the Washington Commanders in Week 13.
