The Tennessee Titans claimed safety Julius Wood off waivers on August 28, 2024. He initially signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent, but was released on August 27 as part of the 53-player roster cuts. The Titans picked him up the next day and he remained part of the active roster.
Today, however, that all changes as Wood has been suspended by the NFL for six games without pay for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

That means Woods is out for the season and will miss the final four games of 2024 and the first two games of 2025.
In nine games this season, Woods has just two tackles (one solo). That's it, that's his entire stat line. Losing Woods doesn't necessarily have a big impact on the Titans' defense, other than the secondary is already depleted. L'Jarius Sneed is out, Chidobe Awuzie fights back and Quandre Diggs is out.
With the loss of Woods, the Titans are down to three safeties, so there will be a lot of moving parts in the secondary as Dennard Wilson figures out how to move forward.
