The Jacksonville Jaguars took first place Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds claimed waivers on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

Reynolds, 29, will now start a new beginning in Jacksonville after his career Denver waived Tuesday. The Broncos had to activate the receiver from injured reserve or release him by Wednesday or he would remain on reserve for the rest of the season. By waiving his contract, Denver allowed Reynolds to continue playing, now with a new team.

Jacksonville also acquired Reynolds' contract, so the Broncos will save him $623,611 Salary he is entitled to for the last five weeks of the season.

Unfortunately for Reynolds, he won't be joining a Trevor Lawrence-led offense. The Jaguars placed Lawrence on injured reserve on Wednesday after suffering a concussion in Week 13. Jacksonville is now expected to start Mac Jones to finish the season.

The Jaguars were already there eliminated from playoff competitionso they'll be playing for jobs on the track. If Reynolds impresses in the final five games of the season, he could be a candidate to return in 2025.

Reynolds had 12 receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown in five games with Denver before landing on IR with a finger injury. He was too shot dead after leaving a nightclub in October, but has since recovered from minor wounds.
