The Denver Broncos waived veteran wide receiver Josh Reynolds on Tuesday ahead of his deadline to return from injured reserve.

After being released by the team, Reynolds shared the following message on his account Instagram story:

I wanted to thank the Broncos for accepting me into a top-notch organization and giving me the opportunity to play. I wish the team and my guys, who I worked with all year, well 💪

Reynolds, 29, signed a Two-year, $9 million contract with Denver this spring. The Broncos are now ready Save $4.5 million in 2025 salary cap after separation from receiver.

Reynolds was placed on IR after had finger surgery last month. Reynolds was later shot twice after leaving a Denver-area nightclub on October 18. Reynolds has since recovered from his wounds and Three people were arrested in connection with the shooting.

Had the team not activated or released Reynolds by Wednesday, he would have remained on IR for the remainder of the season. The Broncos have now given him the opportunity to sign elsewhere while the team moves forward with Courtland Sutton, Devaughn Vele, Marvin Mims, Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Troy Franklin at receiver.
