The Chiefs have the best record in the AFC at 11-1, with their only loss coming against the Bills.
Narrowly wins
Looking at the Chiefs' record, you'd think they've dominated their opponents. However, it wasn't that far yet. Kansas City has now won nine games by one margin or less, six of them coming in the final round.
Pat isn't everything
The Chiefs are at the top of the AFC, but their success isn't due to the play of Patrick Mahomes. Statistically, this is Mahomes' worst season. He completes 68.4% of his passes but has a touchdown rate of 4.4%, the lowest of his career, and an interception rate of 2.6%, the worst of his career.
The key piece is back
When the Chargers played the Chiefs in Week 4, they were missing running back Isiah Pacheco, a key part of their offense. Pacheco was sidelined for two months with a leg injury and returned last week against the Raiders. He only ran the ball seven times but averaged 6.3 yards per carry.
Spag's defense is still dominant
The Chiefs won't make things easy for the Chargers' offense. Kansas City's defense ranks 8th in scoring defense (19.6 points allowed per game). While they are somewhat vulnerable against the pass, ranking 23rd, the Chiefs are a brick wall against the run. They allow just 87.8 rushing yards per game, good for third in the NFL.
Pay attention to…
Defensive tackle Chris Jones. The Chargers have had issues on the interior portion of the offensive line, which Jones will look to exploit. Jones has 54 quarterback pressures and six sacks this season.
