Add short week to long list of Raiders challenges Week 13 vs Chiefs

The Chiefs are still the best team in football. Sitting atop the AFC at 10-1 this season and undefeated at Arrowhead.

That's where the Raiders are headed. A challenge enough in and of itself. But they'll do this in a short week, meaning they won't even have time for actual training.

“It really won't be possible to practice this week, it will be mostly walk-through practice,” said head coach Antonio Pierce.

Monday is set aside for rehab after Sunday's game – something they typically complete over a few days. Then they have two days before getting on a plane on Thanksgiving Day and flying to Kansas City for Friday's game.

Oh yeah, and they'll be doing all of this while trying to figure out who will start at quarterback.

, this week and may not be ready yet, and has only been with the team for a month and has done almost no work with the first team offense.

That's how they'll head into the lion's den against a top-five defense against a Chiefs team looking for revenge in their own home against the last team that beat them there.

In the meantime, the defense must try to prepare for Patrick Mahomes and Co. without two starting cornerbacks.

I don't want to be all doom and gloom here, but there's no question that the Raiders have significant challenges ahead of them this week.
