Even a career-high 140 receiving yards and a touchdown on ten catches weren't quite enough for standout rookie tight end Brock Bowers to secure Rookie of the Week honors.
The award instead went to Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving, who rushed for a career-high 152 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries (6.1 YPC) in an OT win over the Carolina Panthers, while also having three more catches for 33 yards for 185 yards added from scrimmage.
Irving was selected in the fourth round of the April draft out of the University of Oregon.
Irving has set new career highs for the Bucs in each of the last two weeks. In Week 12, he managed 88 yards on the ground and 152 total yards from scrimmage. He also had a touchdown in three consecutive weeks.
Obviously, Irving has the edge in Tampa and they will continue to kill him, and the next team on the list is the Raiders, who head to Tampa to take on the Bucs next Sunday.
Each team will have their standout rookies heavily involved in the offense.
