Raiders sign Shedrick Jackson grand nephew of legendary Bo Jackson

Once a raider, always a raider really means something. So much so that it often extends to the family of Raiders greats. Today you can add another name to that list – Shedrick Jackson. Who did the team add to the practice squad on Wednesday?

Not only is Jackson a former Auburn star receiver who played five games for the Bengals last season, but he is also the grandnephew of arguably the most legendary Raiders player of all time – Bo Jackson.

Jackson's career in the Raiders jersey lasted only four seasons, but in that time he was one of the most famous and exciting athletes in the world, spawning the Nike “Bo Knows” advertising campaign for his prowess in two sports. And of course being absolutely unstoppable in the Tecmo Bowl.

Shedrick followed in Bo's footsteps to Auburn, where he caught 66 passes for 864 yards and one touchdown. Now he is following in his footsteps to Silver & Black.

He was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent and appeared in five games as a rookie, mostly on special teams. He was brought back this season but released in mid-September.

Welcome to Silver & Black, Shedrick.
