With JK Dobbins (knee) out Sunday, the Chargers trio of Gus Edwards, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal will carry the load on the floor. Those three have a combined average of 2.9 yards per carry on 94 attempts this season. Justin Herbert can also get involved – he's second on the team with 211 yards rushing this year.
When Dobbins left the game at halftime last week, the Chargers passed the ball just three times. That's not a sustainable plan for a 60-minute contest, and Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman have never shown any signs of being comfortable with letting Herbert throw the ball 40 times a game, let alone 50.
