What a wild three weeks it has been for former Rams assistant coach Thomas Brown. He began the year as the Bears' passing game coordinator before being promoted to offensive coordinator when Shane Waldron was fired on November 12.
Now he will be the Bears' interim coach for the remainder of the year.
After Thursday's loss to the Lions, the Bears fired Matt Eberflus as head coach and promoted Brown to interim coach. It's a great opportunity for the 38-year-old, who is a potential head coaching candidate for the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Brown started in the NFL in 2020 with the Rams as the running backs coach after completing several college stints. He was promoted to assistant head coach in 2022 and the Panthers hired him as offensive coordinator in 2023.
He's had a variety of jobs over the last five years, and it could lead to a head coaching job at some point in the near future – especially if this final stretch with the Bears goes well.
