How did Christian McCaffrey do how much did he play in return

The San Francisco 49ers didn't make many changes to their Thursday practice attendance report.

However, one big difference between Wednesday and Thursday was Christian McCaffrey's return to training after sitting out Wednesday's session. This was the pattern the reigning Offensive Player of the Year followed before Week 12, but Thursday offered a positive turn for the RB. He was not listed on Wednesday due to an injury and was a full participant on Thursday.

Previously, McCaffrey had limited practice earlier in the week. The club no longer listing his Achilles tendon injury is a good sign, and the fact that they are training him at full training is a plus.

The only other change for the 49ers was that wide receiver Chris Conley was limited in action due to a knee injury. He was not listed in Wednesday's report.

Here is Thursday's full participation report:

Didn't participate

LG Aaron Banks (concussion)
DE Nick Bosa (hip, oblique)
DT Jordan Elliott (concussion)
LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee)
CB Deommodore Lenoir (knee)
LT Trent Williams (ankle)

That makes five starters who missed the 49ers' first two days of practice before what was supposed to be a must-win game. Yikes!

Limited participation

WR Chris Conley (knee)
DT Kevin Givens (groin)
CB Renardo Green (neck)
LB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles)
RG Dominick Puni (shoulder)
QB Brock Purdy (shoulder)

Purdy's limited participation doesn't mean much considering he was limited all week leading up to Week 12 and then didn't play in the game.

Full participation

WR Jacob Cowing (concussion)
CB Charvarius Ward (not due to injury – personal matter)

Good news here. Ward isn't guaranteed to play, but his return would be helpful if Lenoir doesn't play.
