The 2024 season certainly didn't go that way Fans had hoped that would be the case with rookie quarterback and recent No. 1 draft pick Caleb Williams taking over.
Chicago enters the schedule in Week 14 with a disappointing record of 4:8 and a losing streak of six games.

As Williams and the Bears navigate the early turmoil of his career, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan had plenty of good things to say about the young Chicago signal-caller.
“As talented as there is. The things you saw in college you can see in the NFL. No matter how good a pitcher is, he is born for the position, has the athletic ability to do anything and the speed to do anything.
“He's gotten a lot of playing time, he's getting better and better this year, I think he's getting a lot more consistent. I think he's probably played his best ball here in the last few weeks. “He gave them a chance to win here in the last few games there,” Shanahan said of Williams.
Williams is completing 61.6% of his passes and has thrown for 2,612 yards and 14 touchdowns with five interceptions. Each of Chicago's last three losses came against divisional opponents from the NFC North and were determined by a score.
For Williams, he says the early adversity of his career will help him and the Bears in the long run.
“I think this is a stepping stone to being able to accomplish all of this in my first year. I wouldn't say I'm happy about it. Having these moments is definitely something that will help me in the future.
“There are situational moments that are difficult to reproduce in practice, some of those moments, the firing of a coach or coaches and the promotion of people. You know, things like this all happen within a few weeks. You know, I think it would help me in the long run to deal with all of this, to get through this first year and grow from it,” Williams said.

While Williams and Co. stroll into town, San Francisco (5-7) looks to avoid its own three-game loss when the Bears come to Levi's Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on Fox.
