The nature of this illness means the 49ers will have to manage McCaffrey's usage throughout the season, including potentially limiting his practice appearances for the remainder of the year.

McCaffrey was limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but participated fully in Friday's practice and did not appear on the 49ers' injury report. He should be in full form for the second week in a row.
How often will Christian McCaffrey play?
It doesn't look like the 49ers plan to limit McCaffrey much in games. We may see him for a few snaps here and there, but his touches should be back to the same level as they were in Week 10, where he struck out more than 19 times. With a full game under his belt, he could be even more effective against the Seattle Seahawks.

One of the advantages the 49ers have in dealing with McCaffrey's woes is that they have a pair of running backs behind them that they can trust to grab some carries when the snap/touch count gets too high . Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo both filled in admirably while McCaffrey was out, but their chances may be limited if he's healthy.
