At the start of the game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football, Christian McCaffrey got the San Francisco 49ers offense off to an early start.
Early in the second quarter against the Bills, McCaffrey rushed for 53 yards on seven carries. Earlier in the game, McCaffrey also caught two passes for 14 yards. However, after fending off an 18-yard carry, McCaffrey left the field on the next play, entering the field for a five-yard loss. McCaffrey quickly left the game, went to the medical tent and then to the locker room.
After halftime, Kyle Shanahan announced that McCaffrey would not return for the remainder of the game against the Bills.
