Leonard Williams makes history in Seahawks victory over Jets

Heading into the Seattle Seahawks' Week 13 showdown against the New York Jets, one of the biggest topics of conversation was quarterback Geno Smith's “homecoming” against the team that drafted him in 2013. However, a less discussed storyline was another “homecoming.” Star defender Leonard Williams.

Of course, we at Seahawks Wire that Williams returns to face the team that selected him No. 6 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Big Cat reminded the Jets faithful why their team spent such valuable draft capital on him and why they should have found a way to keep him much longer than they did. Williams was an absolute terror in Week 13. He sacked Aaron Rodgers twice, snagged an interception and returned the favor for a touchdown. In fact, his dominance was historic in every sense of the word!

As a reminder, 1982 was the first year the nfl began stacking sacks as an official statistic. So as far as the league's official record books go, this could most likely be the only time this has ever happened.

The Seahawks have Williams at one Extension last offseason. According to his then his historic one in Week 13, I think it's safe to say he's worth every penny the team has (and will pay) him.
