Thanks to We've talked about centers far more on this site than we ever have. With Williams' departure, the responsibility for the starting center role falls to the second-year player which is Seattle's best option for the foreseeable future. At least for the rest of this season.
But could there be another option for the Seahawks? Former Seahawks starting center Justin Britt seems to think so. On his TikTok, Britt commented on the Seattle center situation while wearing one of the team's iconic retro hats. Britt's message can be seen below, courtesy of And .
“The The center has just retired. How quickly can I gain 50 pounds?”
Then he said, “Call me.” 🧐
Could we see a Justin Britt comeback? He is only 33 years old.

Of course, Britt's comments seem particularly ironic considering that he has not played in the league since the 2022 season and officially retired from professional football in March 2023. He is also 33 years old.
Britt began his career as a right tackle, then left guard. He wasn't particularly good at either position, but became a serviceable starter as center. He eventually signed with the Houston Texans in 2021, but spent a lot of time on injured reserve.
Given his age, his absence from football, and his injury history late in his career, I think it's unlikely the Seahawks will call him up. However, if he has somehow remained in footballing shape, general manager John Schneider might at least consider taking a look at the phone, at least to learn more about the position.
