The most prestigious award in all of football isn't the Most Valuable Player or the All-Pro team you qualify for. The best award a player can end the year with is the famous Walter Payton Man of the Year award, which highlights a player's outstanding achievements on and off the field as an outstanding member of his community.

Nominations were announced for all 32 teams in the league, including the Seattle Seahawks. The representative of the Hawks, the 12th Man and the city of Seattle is none other than linebacker Uchenna Nwosu.

This is the second time Nwosu has been nominated for the Man of the Year award, the first being his second season in the league. Now he is once again entitled to the greatest honor in football. Nwosu founded the Uchenna Nwosu Foundation in 2023 and the impact is obvious. Recently, Nwosu to restore power and rebuild roads. His donations also helped fund an Athletic trainer at his former high school.

To date, only two Seahawks have won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award: Steve Largent in 1988 and Russell Wilson in 2020. Should Nwosu take home these awards, he will forever have a Walter Payton silhouette patch on his jersey carry. No matter which team he plays for.

Due to unfortunate injuries, Nwosu hasn't been able to make much of an impact on the field this year, but that obviously hasn't stopped him from making an impact off the field as well.
