RALEIGH, N.C. – Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov is in the concussion protocol, coach Rod Brind'Amour said.

Kochetkov was eliminated in the game against Columbus after a collision with teammate Sean Walker. Brind'Amour did not have an exact timetable for Kochetkov's return, as the team is already dealing with injury concerns at the position.

“Some guys recover very quickly, others take longer,” Brind'Amour said. “Hopefully it’s the bounce back variety.”

The 25-year-old Kochetkov is 10-2-0 this year with a goals-against average of 2.42 and a save percentage of .904.

The Hurricanes said goaltender Frederik Andersen would require knee surgery with an expected recovery time of 8 to 12 weeks.

Carolina hosts Dallas next.
