ESPN cast show solidarity with Randy Moss as NFL legend reveals he’s ‘battling’ health issue on live TV

Randy Moss shared a “personal update” as he opened ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown this weekend.

The NFL legend and Hall of Fame wide receiver explained that he was struggling with a health problem that required him to wear glasses during television appearances.

“Good morning. I just wanted to share something with all of you,” Moss, 47, began at the start of the show.

“I posted a post on Instagram a few minutes ago to tell people that you guys were talking about my eyes last week and I just want to let viewers know that me and my wife, me and my family, we struggling with something internally.

“I have some great doctors around me. I couldn’t miss the show, I wanted to be here with you.”

“I feel great, but when you all see me with these Michigan turnover glasses that I have on, that’s no disrespect because I’m on TV.”

“I'm fighting something, I need all the prayer warriors. God bless you all and thank you for the prayers.”

After Moss made his announcement, fans quickly took to social media to express their support.

“This Sunday my prayers go out to Randy Moss. I hope what he's going through passes at the speed of light,” one person said.

Another wrote: “Praying for Randy Moss. Great guy. I hope his family is well.”

“Randy Moss, you got this!” a third added.

Not only did fans wish Moss well, but the rest of the ESPN cast also donned sunglasses in a sweet moment of solidarity after the nfl legend revealed his news.

“It’s beautifully said. All for one and one for all. If he wears glasses, we all wear glasses today,” said nfl Countdown host Mike Greenberg.

Ahead of his appearance on the show, Moss also shared an update with his fans on Instagram.

“Throughout the holiday week, your boy was struggling with something internal,” he said.

“I just ask all prayer warriors to give me and my family their blessings during these difficult times.”

“Last week people were asking about my eyes. If you see these on Sunday's NFL Countdown (puts on glasses), Adam Schefter calls them Michigan sales jars they sent from Ohio last night.

“Your boy will get through this. I have a great medical team and family around me. You do all your checkups, do your blood work, and we’ll get it done.”

Last week, several viewers expressed their concerns about Moss online after his eyes turned yellow.

Considered one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history, Moss played Oakland Raiders, , and San Francisco 49ers during a storied career.
