Manchester United fans have reacted angrily to the news that Darren Fletcher will remain on the club's coaching staff.
The former midfielder retains his technical position at Old Trafford following the arrival of .
It comes despite the Red Devils Announcement of the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Van Nistelrooy had returned United as an assistant in the summer before serving as interim coach for the final four games.
Meanwhile, Fletcher was replaced as technical director by Jason Wilcox earlier this year.
Since then he has acted as a technical coach and acts as a link between the first team and the academy.

Reacting to the news on social media, one fan wrote: “How does he continue to survive?”
Another added: “How did he survive another manager? Should have kept Ruud above himself.”
A third supporter also commented: “Terminate Ruud but keep Fletcher…”
Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel also left United following Amorim's arrival.
The new coach was pictured at the training ground on Monday after leaving Sporting.
He is will probably train for the first time next week before traveling to Ipswich on November 24th.
However, Amorim's coaching team has yet to be confirmed by the club.
As for Fletcher, he returned to the Red Devils in 2020 after hanging up his boots, initially working in the academy before taking on an assistant role there .
The 40-year-old previously spent 15 years as a player at Old Trafford between 2000 and 2015.
During this time he scored 24 goals in 342 appearances from midfield and won 15 trophies, including the Champions League and five Premier League titles.
