Big trouble seems to be brewing for the New York Giants.
The The era of Daniel Jones is over after the quarterback was released last week — less than two years after he signed a $160 million contract extension.
In his absence, Tommy DeVito took over the starting role on Sunday but couldn't breathe life into the NFL's lowest-scoring offense.
The Giants were beaten 30-7 by the Giants and their performance at Metlife Stadium was so poor that many fans left the stadium before the end of the fourth quarter.
DeVito only managed 189 passing yards, while his counterpart Baker Mayfield threw for an impressive 294 yards.
The Bucs' QB also dove into the end zone on a 10-yard scramble to score one of Tampa Bay's four rushing touchdowns before adding further insult to injury Stealing DeVito's signature celebration.
New York has now lost six games in a row and has one of the worst records in the world at 2-9 NFL in 2024.
They may have a different quarterback, but the same old problems remain.
After an embarrassing loss to the Buccaneers, Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers cut a frustrated figure in the locker room as he delivered a X-rated assessment of where the team stands.
“It’s not the quarterback,” Nabers said when asked about the team’s problem.
“Same result when we had DJ at quarterback…Everyone knows better than me.”
Nabers, who led the Giants with six catches for 64 yards on Sunday, described the team's performance as “damn soft” and expressed anger at not scoring until late in the game.
“I’m tired of going out and losing,” he added.
“It's just that. I mean, I don't know, bro. I go out there, first and second quarters, and I don’t get the ball and I start scoring goals at the end.”
“I mean, there’s nothing I can do. Start getting the ball at 30-0 – what should I do?”
It's not just the Giants' offense that's struggling.
The Buccaneers scored on five of their first six possessions and took a 30-0 lead in the third quarter, steamrolling the New York defense.
Four different players scored a rushing touchdown for Tampa Bay, while eleven recorded a reception.
Only Devin Singletary's one-yard score in the fourth quarter kept New York from being shut out.
It won't take long for the Giants to sort out their problems, and they'll travel to AT&T Stadium to face it in a Thanksgiving game on Thursday.
