West Ham will decide on Julen Lopetegui's short-term future by the weekend.
Looking back, Lopetegui is under enormous pressure The 3-1 defeat at Leicester on Tuesday and sources say the manager's future depends on a club board meeting due to take place later this week.
The former Spain and Real Madrid coach was given a two-year contract to replace David Moyes in the summer and arrived at the London Stadium with great expectations.
West Ham spent more than £120m on nine new players in the belief that Lopetegui could lead them to a return to Europe after missing last season for the first time in four years.
However, £27m German striker Niclas Fullkrug is yet to start in a Premier League game, £25.5m Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme played just 11 minutes in two substitute appearances and many of the other new additions, including EFL player the Year Crysencio Summerville, have struggled for form.
While technical director Tim Steidten is also under observation, Lopetegui is the one feeling the heat. The Hammers have won just one win in five games since beating Manchester United on October 27, which resulted in the sacking of United coach Erik ten Hag.
Tuesday's result left West Ham in 14th place.
