Noni Madueke must work more says Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca

Madueke, Joao Felix, Cole Palmer and Nkunku formed the attacking quartet for Chelsea in Southampton – with Maresca making seven changes to the starting XI compared to the win against Villa.

Substitutions included Pedro Neto, Nicolas Jackson and Jadon Sancho, highlighting the strength of Maresca's squad.

The manager said: “There are players back there who are ready. We have four wingers who are all very good.”

“Pedro and Noni for the right side, Jadon and Misha [Mykhailo Mudryk] for the left side and the moment one of them falls for some reason, there is one behind it who is ready.

“Noni must not fall because Pedro is there and is doing fantastically. If Pedro falls, Noni will be there.”

“They need to understand that if we want to be there or be around something important.”

Chelsea's win keeps them in second place, seven points behind leaders Liverpool, with a game against Tottenham on Sunday.
