Do you feel a connection with Manchester United fans?
“Yeah, sure I feel that, maybe because I'm a little bit [of] an emotional person. I think I can convey that in interviews too. Maybe because I'm different than the last coach and that can lead to a different connection with the next guy.
“I believe that I am the right one. People always believe that the next person is the right one. We always have that feeling.”
“To maintain that feeling we have to play better, win games and be really honest with the fans. If you're honest and direct with fans – maybe you don't always say what's popular – you create a better connection.”
Have you always been emotional?
“Yes, because it’s my character. You can't change. You can’t be not emotional one day and be emotional the next day.”
“I also think with my head, not always with my heart. But when I do things, I do them with emotion.”
“As a coach you can be so good at tactical and technical things, but if you’re not emotional you can’t connect with the players and you can’t do anything with a football team.”
