Wheelchair Masters Gordon Reid beaten by Tokito Oda in singles final

Britain's Gordon Reid was beaten in three sets by Tokito Oda in the Wheelchair Masters singles final.

Reid, appearing in his third final and first since 2017, lost 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 to the Japanese world number one in Arnhem, Netherlands.

It came a day after the British number two also missed defending her Wheelchair Masters doubles title with Alfie Hewett as she lost in straight sets on Saturday against the Spaniard Martin de la Puente and the Belgian Joachim Gerard.

The 33-year-old Reid has never won the Wheelchair Masters singles title and was unable to change that against the 18-year-old Oda, who also won gold at the Australian Open, French Open and Paralympic Games this year.
