Bangladesh beat West Indies to draw Test series and end 15 year wait

Bangladesh secured their first Test win in the West Indies in 15 years, ending the two-match series with a 1-1 draw.

Spinner Taijul Islam took 5-50 on the fourth day as West Indies were bowled out for 185, giving the tourists a 101-run win.

Earlier on Tuesday, Jaker Ali's Test-best 91 innings helped Bangladesh to a total of 268, setting an impressive victory target of 287.

The home side made a confident start to their fightback, but after reaching 92-2, they conceded and eventually lost their final six wickets for 42 runs.

Kavem Hodge top-scored for the West Indies with 55, while captain Kraigg Brathwaite added 43 points – the only other batsman to score more than 20 points.

This was Bangladesh's first Test win in the West Indies since a 2-0 series win in 2009.

It also means they have won three away Tests in a calendar year for the first time, following two wins against Pakistan in Rawalpindi in August and September.
