Danielle Gibson Somerset sign England all rounder

England all-rounder Danielle Gibson has agreed to join Somerset for the 2025 season.

The 23-year-old will be leaving Gloucestershire, where she made her debut aged 13 and returned last year after a spell in Wales.

She also played for London Spirit in The Hundred and the Adelaide Strikers in the Women's Big Bash League in Australia.

Gibson has played 24 List A games for Western Storm, taking 20 wickets and scoring more than 450 runs, and won 22 T20 internationals for England.

“Dani is a player of real quality and we are delighted to have a player who has such tremendous ability in all facets of the game,” Somerset director of cricket Andy Hurry said.

“She has gained a wide range of experience and developed into a truly three-dimensional cricketer and the international recognition last year was well deserved.

“We look forward to the impact she can have on our environment and to seeing her continue to thrive at the highest level of the game.”

Gibson added: “Somerset has always been good at supporting women’s football and it’s great to be working with Somerset.

“We’re looking forward to getting women’s cricket in the county even bigger than it already is and the aim is to help Somerset win silverware.”
